ABOUT OUR UPCYCLED RANGE
From landfill to luxury: A recent drop in demand for high-fashion couture has created an excess supply of quality yarns. Waverley Mills has salvaged over 60,000 kgs of yarn from Italy that would have ended up in landfill and turned it into something magical.
Our upcycled range of blankets and throws are made from a variety of recycled or reclaimed wool, cotton and manmade fibre. Due to the nature of the reclaiming process, all products take on a slightly varied mix depending on the colour variation.
Due to the nature of our products there may be some slight variation in sizing.
Our picnic, travel, 29-micron wool blankets and recycle range products are designed to withstand a bit of rough and tumble however, we still recommend laundering your product with care.
Airing outside or in a steamy bathroom is the easiest way of refreshing your product.
For any spills or mishaps, we recommend spot cleaning. You can find more details here.
You may choose to dry clean and if so, we recommend discussing the care instructions with your chosen drycleaner before leaving your product.
We do not recommend machine washing your product, even if your machine has a delicate or hand wash cycle.

Can I machine wash upcycled products?
As we use some new wool in our upcycled products, we don’t recommend machine washing, even if your machine has a delicate or hand wash cycle. A gentle hand wash will ensure a long life for your new blanket or throw.
What are man-made fibres?
Man-made fibres are synthetics fibres that includes but is not limited to; rayon, polyester, viscose, and acrylic. Our dead stock yarns may be made up of a combination of these and natural fibres.
Where are your products made?
We make everything right here at our mill in Launceston, Tasmania. From weaving, right through to cutting and finishing, our products don’t leave the mill until they’re on their way to you.
