To create something truly exquisite, you must start at the source. The Waverley Mills Collector's Edition Plaid, crafted from single-origin Tasmanian wool, is a testament to durability and craftsmanship. Launceston, Tasmania, once a global textile powerhouse, was home to multiple mills transforming the region’s superior wool into coveted textiles worldwide. Today, only Waverley Mills remains, proudly guarding this rich heritage and celebrating enduring quality. Founded by John Bullman 150 years ago, it is the last mill of its kind in Australia.
Our skilled team of artisans are the caretakers of their trade, training the artisans and caretakers of the future. Together, they've crafted the Collector's Edition on site right here where it all started 150 years ago.

WHAT’S SO SPECIAL ABOUT BEAUFRONT MERINO WOOL?
The 18-micron wool for the Collector’s Edition Plaid is sourced from Beaufront. Julian and Annabel von Bibra are the fourth generation of the von Bibra family to run merinos on their picturesque farm in Ross, Tasmania. Beaufront uniquely blends conservation with agriculture, where superfine merino sheep graze in managed native bush. This approach ensures that the natural diversity is protected for future generations.
A BIT ABOUT MICRONS
The smaller the micron count, the finer the wool fibre will be. Wool typically falls in a range of 18–40 microns. These throws are made with supple 22 micron Merino wool, making them soft enough to cosy up with inside but durable enough for outdoor use.
Due to the nature of our products there may be some slight variation in sizing.
While we have done our best to photography the colour accurately, colours may vary between monitors.
From time to time, your delicate product may need refreshing. We suggest airing outside, rather than washing. A steamy bathroom or a frosty night will also invigorate and refresh fibres.
For any spills or mishaps, we recommend spot cleaning. You can find more details here.
You may choose to dry clean and if so, we recommend discussing the care instructions with your chosen drycleaner before leaving your product.
We do not recommend machine washing your product, even if your machine has a delicate or hand wash cycle.
