Behind the Warmth:

Guided Mill Tours at Waverley Mills Tasmania

For over 150 years, Waverley Mills has stood quietly on the banks of Distillery Creek in Launceston — spinning, weaving and finishing Australian wool onsite since 1874.

Now, you’re invited to step behind the warmth.

Our Behind the Warmth Tour offers a rare opportunity to walk through Tasmania’s last weaving mill of its kind — to see raw fibre transformed into finished textile, and to understand why craftsmanship still matters.

Our short tour of the woollen mill was fascinating. Our guide, Amy, was friendly, knowledgable and really engaging. I can't believe we have such a special place on our back doorstep...

Penny provided a comprehensive tour of the making of product from preparing the wool and product to despatch. We were fascinated and in awe of the passion the team had about their work and product.
