Christmas Gifting with Haus of Cruze

Style experts Az & Jamie share what makes a gift truly special.

In our special Waverley Mills Christmas Gifting series, we’re talking to some inspiring creators about how to find the perfect timeless gift for the special people on your list. And, of course, we asked them to dish on their favourite Waverley Mills pieces!

Haus of Cruze is a creative design studio in Melbourne, led by husband-and-husband duo Az & Jamie. True aesthetes, they share a passion and talent for interior design and are expert creative storytellers whose work has graced countless magazines. They’ve even been featured on the Channel 7TWO DIY series Make It Yours!

We talked to Az & Jamie about their Christmas plans this year, how to choose a special gift for your loved ones and how they love to style their favourite Waverley Mills throws in their gorgeous home.

A Conversation with Az & Jamie

How will you be making your Christmas special this year?

This year we’re actually doing something we’ve never done before and that is not seeing our families. We’re spending Christmas at Jackalope Hotel on the Mornington Peninsula for two nights — just the two of us this year. Something super intimate and special to remember.

What makes the perfect Christmas gift?

The perfect Christmas gifts are those that ignite a memory or a feeling. Something that takes you back to a specific moment in your life that makes you laugh or smile.

What’s a Christmas tradition you can’t live without celebrating?

Our annual Christmas family portrait with our two fur babies Bella & Frankie. We started doing them the first Christmas we moved into our new home build in 2017.

How do you best style your Waverley Mills product in the home?

We actually now have four different Waverley Mills throws/blankets in our home that are in rotation across bedrooms and living spaces. They are a staple accent addition to any room. Given they’re so gorgeous, they just work in any space, which is why we love them so much.

Who will you be gifting Waverley Mills to this year?

We have family in Canada we’re gifting a Waverley Mills blanket to this year. Spending a White Christmas snuggled up to a super warm Merino wool throw from Australia will be the perfect gift!

Stylish Gifts for Getting Away & Staying In

Whether you’re jetting off on holiday this Christmas or staying close to home and celebrating with family and friends, here are our gift recommendations for the tastemakers in your life.
