Crafted from Waverley Mills’ unique recycling process, Breezy embodies our commitment to sustainability, blending 30% recycled wool with 70% new Australian wool. Our recycled yarn is made entirely from Australian, 100% natural fibres, ensuring each throw remains luxuriously soft, durable, and built to last. Breezy is the epitome of Waverley—responsibly made, effortlessly beautiful, and crafted to endure life's moments while offering warmth and comfort.
As we reflect on 150 years of craftsmanship, we honour the hands that have shaped our legacy—the weavers, spinners, millers, and sewers who have kept the art of textile-making alive. Making is in Australia’s DNA, and in the heart of Launceston’s history. As the last mill of our kind in Australia, we celebrate the skill, dedication, and care it takes to create something truly special. We hope you feel that same care every time you wrap yourself in Breezy.
“We were influenced by the movement towards slow travel and nostalgic outdoor experiences – bringing levels of design, comfort and luxury to the outdoors and allowing immersion in nature. The texture and feel of the Waverley Mills recycled fibre felt like the perfect canvas to bring a sense of joy to the outdoor environment, and a sense of nature indoors.”

Breezy Throw in Lake
Tasmania’s rugged coastlines and serene estuaries offer a striking palette of colours. The clear, sunlit blues of the Southern Ocean meet the vibrant orange lichen clinging to granite boulders. This vivid contrast of azure water against sun-warmed stone is a reminder of Tasmania’s elemental beauty, where sea, sky, and rock converge to create a landscape both ancient and ever-changing.
Breezy Throw in Bloom
Tasmania’s native grasslands, where some of Australia’s finest superfine merino sheep graze, are dotted with bursts of pink and purple wildflowers. As dusk settles, these pastures reveal their hidden gems—chocolate lilies (Arthropodium strictum), with their delicate violet petals and sweet scent, and the fairy’s aprons (Utricularia dichotoma), tiny blooms that peek from the grasses like scattered brushstrokes of colour. These grasslands are a testament to Tasmania’s biodiversity, carefully stewarded by generations of sustainable land managers who ensure both the wool and the wildflowers thrive.
Breezy Throw in Moss
Inspired by the untamed beauty of Tasmania’s peat and button grass moorlands, which stretch across the island’s highland plateaus. These windswept landscapes, shaped by centuries of rainfall and rugged conditions, are a tapestry of golden-green hues—where the delicate shimmer of button grass contrasts against the dark earth of ancient peat bogs. As evening falls, the air hums with the calls of frogs and the soft wingbeats of dragonflies, echoing the timeless rhythm of the Tasmanian wilderness.
