Classic Throw in Dove Grey

Recycled Wool

Introducing our reimagined, Classic throw.

Artfully woven and highly coveted, our new recycled throw is made from 70% new wool and 30% recycled wool, saving precious off cuts and ends from the factory for a truly sustainable everyday luxury.

  • Classic Throw in Dove Grey
  • 70% New Australian Wool, 30% Recycled Wool
  • 29 Micron Wool
  • Edge: 12 cm Rolled Fringe
  • Size: 150 x 210 cm
  • Approximate weight: 900grams
  • Easy care: Cold hand wash or dry clean only
  • Proudly designed and made in Tasmania, Australia

Pure wool offcuts and ends are shredded, spun, and blended with Australian merino wool to make our recycled yarn. In the Classic throw, these threads are woven together in their natural state, letting each speckle of the recycled fibres shine. Each thread is unique, creating a beautiful, variegated throw with a story to tell.

Merino wool comes from the fleece of Merino sheep, and it boasts some amazing properties. It is soft yet durable, fire resistant, temperature regulating, moisture wicking and odour resistant.

The smaller the micron count, the finer the wool fibre will be. Wool typically falls in a range of 18–40 microns. These throws are made with robust but soft 29-micron Merino wool, making them soft enough to cosy up with inside but durable enough for outdoor use.

Due to the nature of our products, there may be some slight variation in sizing.

Variations in colour and slub in yarns is a natural part of this recycled product.

Our recycled range is designed to withstand a bit of rough and tumble however, we still recommend laundering your product with care.

Airing outside or in a steamy bathroom is the easiest way of refreshing your product.

For any spills or mishaps, we recommend spot cleaning. You can find more details here.

You may choose to dry clean and if so, we recommend discussing the care instructions with your chosen drycleaner before leaving your product.

We do not recommend machine washing your product, even if your machine has a delicate or hand wash cycle.

Beautiful throw

This is such a stunning throw. It matches my couch beautifully and I love wrapping it around myself in the evenings whilst watching TV. Can highly recommend.

Mr Barry Norcott

I bought it for my wife, she absolutely loves it.

The colours evocative of the forest wrap you in softness and warmth. It's a throw back to timeless simple comfort and something to treasure for the ages.

A beautiful throw rug. Best quality, warm and great to look at. Thank you Waverley: nothing beats a local product like this.

Birthday present for the wife

After many years of being in the 'sin bin' for presents that didn't quite hit the mark. I redeemed myself with this beauty! This review is as much about my present buying performance as this amazing product. I've gone from zero to hero with this bad boy - I've amazed myself actually. Yes, it's warm, yes it's colours are beautiful, yes you'll feel amazing that it's made from merino wool and recycled content, yes it will make cozying up on the couch more intimate. It's all the yes.

How soft is your recycled wool?

Wool is measured with microns, typically ranging from 18-40, where the smaller the number, the finer the wool. We use a robust but soft 29-micron wool in our recycled throws, to ensure they have a long life keeping you warm.

Will wool pill?

Pilling is a natural part of the lifecycle of wool. Abrasion and friction are the most likely causes of pilling, but may be unavoidable over the life cycle of your natural fibre product.

The good news is that pilling is easily remedied. Simply remove the pills carefully, by hand or with a comb, for a good as new appearance.

Where are your products made?

We make everything right here at our mill in Launceston, Tasmania. From weaving, right through to cutting and finishing, our products don’t leave the mill until they’re on their way to you.
