Prepare to be transported to Tasmania’s breathtaking northeast coast, where crystal blue waters lap white sandy beaches and striking orange lichen-covered granite boulders.
The Bay of Fires inspired design is perfectly warming  for brisk evenings outdoors – be that seaside or poolside.
  • Terrain Throw Bay of Fires
  • 70% New Australian Wool, 30% Recycled Wool
  • 29 Micron Wool
  • Edge: 12 cm Rolled Fringe
  • Size: 150 x 210 cm
  • Approximate weight: 900grams
  • Easy care: Cold hand wash or dry clean only
  • Proudly designed and made in Tasmania, Australia

Pure wool offcuts and ends are shredded, spun, and blended with Australian merino wool to make our recycled yarn. In the Classic throw, these threads are woven together in their natural state, letting each speckle of the recycled fibres shine. Each thread is unique, creating a beautiful, variegated throw with a story to tell.

The smaller the micron count, the finer the wool fibre will be. Wool typically falls in a range of 18–40 microns. These throws are made with robust but soft 29-micron Merino wool, making them soft enough to cosy up with inside but durable enough for outdoor use.

Due to the nature of our products, there may be some slight variation in sizing.

Variations in colour and slub in yarns is a natural part of this recycled product.

Outdoor Tasmanian Oak Chair - finished in organic Osmo Oil by Rex Heathcote on loan from Design Tasmania.

Our recycled range is designed to withstand a bit of rough and tumble however, we still recommend laundering your product with care.

Airing outside or in a steamy bathroom is the easiest way of refreshing your product.

For any spills or mishaps, we recommend spot cleaning. You can find more details here.

You may choose to dry clean and if so, we recommend discussing the care instructions with your chosen drycleaner before leaving your product.

We do not recommend machine washing your product, even if your machine has a delicate or hand wash cycle.

Terrain Throw Bay of Fires Throw Rug

My beautiful Waverley Mills, throw rug arrived on time in perfect condition. The texture is lovely, the colour is true to picture, large enough to wrap one self up in and so cosy warm without the weight. A few years ago I purchased a pure wool queen size blanket from Waverley, and the blanket continues to keep me wonderfully warm. I highly recommend Waverly Mills.

Love my throw. Perfect for cold nights.

I purchased this throw as a gift and had it sent directly with gift wrapping. My friend was over the moon when it arrived. She loved the colour and feel.
She is very environmentally aware, which is one reason why I chose this brand. I’m thinking of buying one for myself also.

Recycled wool....excellent

How soft is your recycled wool?

Wool is measured with microns, typically ranging from 18-40, where the smaller the number, the finer the wool. We use a robust but soft 29-micron wool in our recycled throws, to ensure they have a long life keeping you warm.

Will wool pill?

Pilling is a natural part of the lifecycle of wool. Abrasion and friction are the most likely causes of pilling, but may be unavoidable over the life cycle of your natural fibre product.

The good news is that pilling is easily remedied. Simply remove the pills carefully, by hand or with a comb, for a good as new appearance.

Where are your products made?

We make everything right here at our mill in Launceston, Tasmania. From weaving, right through to cutting and finishing, our products don’t leave the mill until they’re on their way to you.
